And The Stars, And the Earth
Village Candlemaker and Aspiring Alchemist
Mikkel was always a bit of an odd duck; growing up, he apprenticed to his father’s trade in candlemaking and took to it well, but his passions from an early age were devoted to the strange and dangerous art of alchemical experimentation. He’s always first to pester Pontus when he comes to town, inquiring as to whether the elf might have any saltpeter or fulminating calcite or essence of murex buried in his saddlebags. Archie has taught the young man what he can, but alchemy was never the old wizard’s strong suit. The young man seems happy enough, tinkering away in his workshop, occasionally producing candles that burn unusual colors but usually just producing noise and odd smells. Mikkel has no family in the village, his parents having both passed on three years ago from the sweating sickness.
